Agreement between RMIA and BCI
30th June 2006
The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) and the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) have signed a Co-operation Agreement to capitalise on synergies between the two bodies.

The two organisations will co-operate in developing knowledge and understanding of risk and business continuity management. Other potential areas of joint activity are member forums, special interest groups, website links, research, conferences, seminars and workshops, relationships with educational establishments, publications, input to national and international standards and promotion to industry, commerce and government.
Bill Hannan, MBCI, Business Continuity Institute Representative for Australia, said there were clear synergies in areas where both organisations operated. "By maximising these synergies we can gain mutual benefit."

RMIA has 1,700 members in Australia, New Zealand and Asia and is a peak body for risk management professionals.
BCI members can join RMIA as an individual member at a concessional rate of AUD $ 144.00. Annual subscriptions thereafter are at RMIA published rates.
We encourage all BCI members in all countries to expand their risk horizons & take advantage of this unique offer to gain risk knowledge sharing.
For BCI members wishing to join the RMIA, visit the RMIA site at www.rmia.org.au and complete the membership information as an individual member applicant, recording that you are a BCI member

The UK ’s four leading risk and business continuity membership associations have announced the formation of The Risk Federation.

AIRMIC, ALARM, the BCI and the IRM who together have in excess of 7,000 members, are to work together for the best interest of their members and the wider business community.

Through The Risk Federation, these four mutually owned organisations will support each other to develop standards and education, develop and publish technical papers and influence government, media and other representative and legislative bodies.

Membership of The Risk Federation is by invitation and is limited to not-for-profit organisations. Joint Risk Federation seminars and events are planned for 2006 and beyond.
