BCI Benchmark – powered by INONI

Free to BCI Members and Partners – see below

Self evaluation and best practice in BCM standards

A number of business continuity standards have been launched in recent years, with the latest, BS25999 released in 2007.  Many of these are built on concepts first developed in the BCI’s Good Practice Guide (GPG).  Launched in 2002 and regularly updated to fully align with BS25999, this overarching methodology of best practice has been continuously developed by independent business continuity experts and is incomparable in its depth and range of guidance.

The BCI is delighted to offer this unparalleled source of expertise to members and partners and has now joined forces with INONI Limited to develop BCI Benchmark, a powerful self assessment and advisory tool to improve accessibility and value still further.  The Benchmark will enable organisations to measure their BCM capability against continually evolving global standards, and also receive expert guidance to help rectify any deficiencies it finds.  This gives BCI Benchmark unique advantages over comparable initiatives.

Specific benefits of participation in BCI Benchmark include:

  • It is anonymous, secure and FREE to professional members and partners of the BCI (see below)
  • It runs on a mature, reliable and proven system that is easy to use, following years’ critical appraisal by government and financial institutions since 2004
  • It provides a truly independent and global perspective, allowing organisations to measure against a basket of recognised standards
  • Its unique expert system offers best practice guidance and participant-specific advice at detailed and strategic levels
  • It operates in real time, delivering instant results and multiple views of individual analysis and benchmark data

Other ‘must-have’ considerations include:

  • Intelligent online help, detailed FAQs and online support
  • Graphical comparison between sector, geographic, turnover and other important market segments
  • You can update the Benchmark continuously, charting progress over time with minimal effort
  • You can opt to benchmark multiple independent areas of the organisation and perform closed or separate comparison
  • We will share public results via Continuity Magazine and also via various for-purchase reports from time-to-time

BCI Benchmark is powered by INONI, a proven diagnostic, benchmarking and measurement system which has been used extensively by the UK Financial Services Authority since 2005 for market-wide resilience benchmarking. INONI also delivered the autumn 2006 market wide BCM exercise questionnaire to participants on behalf of the Tripartite Authorities (the Bank of England, HM Treasury and the FSA). It is globally accessible, resilient, secure, fast, reliable and most importantly thoroughly tested.
